A Square Peg in a Round Hole

"Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep….strengthen and equip you with everything good to do His will".   Hebrews 13:20,21

Have you ever played with one of those children's toys that is a big ball with holes in it.  You have to put the pieces into the correct hole?   Well I have finally realized that doing God's will in your life is kind of like putting a square piece into a round hole....  it's pretty much impossible to do on your own....  We are just not capable of making it fit.  Oh, we might try and force it, but it won't go.... at least without breaking....
Our lives are kind of like that square piece...  We might want to do God's will.  But on our own, we can't do it.  No matter how much we try to force it; it just isn't going to happen.   However, with God, everything is possible.   If we give Him the pieces He can make it fit.  Every time.  Always.   No force needed.  Of course, the shape will change.... It has to change to fit.  But God can change it, and it will end up stronger and better than it was before.   (you know that if we tried to change the shape we would surely end up breaking it....)
God will "strengthen and equip us with everything good to do His will."  If we are doing it, it is because of what He has done for us.  How He has prepared us.  How He has guided and directed us.  How He has protected us.
It's like we are the lump of clay.  God is the Potter.   If we let Him mold and shape us and don't try to fight it.... we will be the beautiful product that results.    Changed from what we were.   We will have a purpose.  We will be able to be used to do His will.  How cool is that.... It's got to make you wonder....
Dear Lord, mold me.  Make me what You will.  Help me to want to put Your will before my own.  Help me to patiently wait out the molding process and rid me of all that is not good.  I want to be the best product You put out there.... Form me, shape me, make me what you will.   I want to fit in that round hole and I can't do it on my own.  I need You.  Thanks for being there and doing what You do.
